Grand Theft in Ohio
Grand theft, pursuant to 2913.02, is knowingly depriving the owner of property or services by obtaining or exerting control over the property or services in one of the following ways:
- Without the permission or consent of the owner or person authorized to give permission or consent;
- Beyond the scope of the consent of the owner or person authorized to give consent; or
- By deception, threat or intimidation.
This action is considered grand theft when the value of the property or services stolen is between $7500 – $150,000. In addition, there are separate situations where a grand theft may be charged. This may occur when:

- The property stolen is a motor vehicle.
